2016 Eco-Carpentry Challenge Showcase

The Furniture Trust’s annual signature event, the 2016 Eco-Carpentry Challenge Showcase took place April 28th 2016 at District Hall in Boston, MA. Increasingly successful every year, The Eco-Carpentry Challenge promotes resourcefulness and recycling and provides an opportunity for students to develop their creative carpentry skills while demonstrating their commitment to recycling by creating new products from used office furniture.

Students, teachers and industry leaders gathered to celebrate and network. The evening provided a forum for the students to present their work, mingle with industry professionals, and enabled The Trust an opportunity to recognize these remarkably creative students.

Instructor Tom Fischer, retired member of Carpenter’s Local Union #475 and the students of Hopedale High School took first place in the large shop category along with the 2000 dollar prize.
